Sardinia

Vodka!
This is how supposedly they say hello in Sardinian language.
It’s been almost two weeks that I have spent here in Sardinia and I am already sick, having a fever. It’s hotter here than in sauna and having almost no free time but only running around like crazy between activities finally will get to your health.
Nevertheless, Sardinia is very beautiful, at least the camp side and the surroundings here that I have seen. During my days off I want to see more of course. Even if it is beautiful here, it is said that other places in Sardinia are much more beautiful and the beaches more wonderful.
The camp side is full of Italians so I am hoping that when I finish working here my Italian will be awesome. Also, Italians really don’t speak English so you have to learn Italian to communicate. The first week of work all of us, me and my colleagues, have done various activities to see who is good in what and also to learn to be prepared to be able to replace each other. Last time I worked I mostly spent time in the Mini Club playing with children and also doing Aqua gym (water gymnastics). This time, I actually have spent quite a little time in the Mini Club but rather doing sports activities. One of my favourites is doing beach volley tournaments, where you can laugh about how Italians are trying to mess with you. During the game, you are counting the points and saying them out loud all the time and at some point, they are trying to make up more points for the team like saying that they have for sure 2 more points than I have counted. Another favourite activity is splash dance, which is doing the children’s disco dances in the water. For me it is hilarious and a lot of fun, especially when children actually don’t care about the dances but just trying to drown you in the water or just splash you with it as much as possible. I love doing cabarets. Most of the sketches are about improvising but really funny. Once I played a naughty baby who constantly asks her mother to bring stuff to her like a ball, yoghurt, Nutella, water, and a cake. My colleague was playing my hands and smashing everything to my face. It was very funny to play that except all the smell that I had to carry with me some days after. Now that the entire group is together we will be doing musicals as well. Namely Mamma Mia, Tarzan, and the Beauty and The Beast.
It’s a lot of fun here but crazily hard as well, with little sleep, high temperature and running around during the whole days.
Ciao !
