Amsterdam light festival

“There isn’t time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.”

Time just keeps passing by. I have been so busy lately, yet I feel like in the end nothing much gets done. At least I have been able to pass my final thesis! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

After four and a half of years studying passing the thesis is the best feeling. Like a huge rock fell off my shoulders. Unfortunately, another rock fell right back on my shoulders and turns out I needed to find a new place to live. Finding a place in Amsterdam is like finding a needle in a haystack. Just four days before becoming homeless I found a place. My new dream place would be located in the city centre. It should not cost a million and not be shared with 15 other people and is clean. In terms of housing, dreams don’t come true unless you are a millionaire. When searching for a place I came across such insane offers. Finally, I found one that is still outside the city, still a bit expensive and I need to share, but it is huge and beautiful! And I have a garden! And most importantly I am not homeless!!!! Some people spend tonnes of money staying in hostels and hotels before they can find a place. The demand is so much higher than the offer.

Now my future plan is to stay in Amsterdam for a little while (at least till I have seen Rihanna concert in June), earn some money and start observing the professional field what is on offer and what would I like to do next. It could be anything! In a way, it is liberating that I have many options starting with the question- which country? On the other hand, it would be easier if somebody could just tell me what could be the best for me.

So what’s up ? I actually did tonnes of things in the meanwhile and some major private life event stuffsss were happening, but none of these were very positive events. Better to tell you about the happy and beautiful things.

I am trying to find time to learn photography and for my graduation present. I got a new lens for my camera. Till now I haven’t had much time to practice in general. It is on my to-do list! Amsterdam held a light festival recently putting up different figures and sculptures made of lights, mostly on the canals but some on the streets too. I went to capture it. It is hard to make good pictures in the dark and I am struggling with it, but I am still sharing my amateurish photography of the event.
