Home sweet home.

“Always remember to fall asleep with a dream and wake up with a purpose.” Where was the summer? Maybe people in the South haven’t asked that question, but the Netherlands skipped summer and went straight to autumn. Together with my boyfriend I went to the beach once and it started to feel cold so we left. I had my first and only swim in the summer in a pond in a park. Thanks to owning a balcony, I have managed to get my arms somewhat tanned, because if i am home and the sun is up i will use it as much as possible. The sun might never come back so better get hundred percent of it. Also, i went shopping to get some new summer clothes. I still haven’t been able to wear them. I am a bit sad that there has been no real summer here, but on the other hand, i have been trying to enjoy it as much as possible. And i have been working a lot so i can save up money for my unknown future. Everybody keeps bugging me what will i do after i graduate. I know it […]

Back home!

“A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms.” In the beginning of August i took a trip back home to Estonia to see my family. It was probably one the best trips back home that i have ever had. Usually, i go only for a week and then it is always such a challenge to see everybody and do everything you want to. This time, i went for two weeks and had enough time to enjoy, though there could be always more time. My trip was like an awesome vacation. Firstly i have been working all summer here in Amsterdam and thus had less time for fun. I also got really lucky with the weather. It was sunny and the temperature was around thirty degrees and like ninety percent of the time. There was no rush and i could spend quite enough time with everybody. That made it all harder to leave since i got used to the joyful time at home. I rediscovered my country and felt like a tourist travelling around Estonia, sightseeing and discovering places. After i landed in Tallinn my momtook me to […]

” When you do something noble and beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the audience still sleeps.”

I guess if you have been living in Amsterdam for a while, you have seen it all. I now started working in a different shop but for the same company and that shop is not located in the red light district, but still near to the area, kind of on the border, and also near to gay bars. Only in Amsterdam, it can happen that porn stars from Spain visit your shop or that a drunk girl kindly shows her boobs. We have a fun face red light window in the shop for tourists to make pictures of themselves behind the window and one drunk British girl decided to do it properly by exposing her breasts for the photo. It’s been ages again when i last wrote and now i need to refresh my memory about all the things that have been going on. The best thing was visiting home after more than one year. It was also one of the saddest because i was home only for a week to say hi and bye. After being away from home for such a long time i need more time to spend with the loved ones. […]

Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.

School, work, school, school, work, work, party, school, school , work, school. And there goes the time. This is why i haven’t written for so long. So for Christmas break, for one week, i went back home to Estonia. It was one of the coldest weeks there, around -20. First days of my holidays were still officially working days. Thus, i visited as many doctors as possible, dealt with banking and changed my ID card. Things like these are much more comfortable at home, but it makes my visit very busy. Otherwise, long story short, i went to last minute Christmas shopping, ate like a pig on Christmas Eve, met with my friends and went to party with them and gave a visit to my grandparents. Also the traditional “grave running”. It actually means that before we eat the Christmas dinner we go through the graveyards where our closest ones are buried and light up some candles for them. Since it is so cold there is no time for a stroll and you basically run between the graves and therefore we invented the name grave running. When i came back to Amsterdam i worked every […]

Love is missing someone whenever you’re apart, but some how feeling warm inside because you’re close in heart.

I’ve spent less than two weeks in Estonia and already tomorrow I am off to Italy. Summary of my visit: I am extremely happy that I saw my family and friends. Most of the time I spent eating a lot and just chatting and drinking. Estonian summer does not always allow you to go out and sunbathe but it will keep you trapped indoors from the heavy rain pouring down the sky. I saw so many drunk people. First, drunkie i met already on Monday morning. St. John’s day ,or Jaanipäev in Estonian, went better than usually by enjoying the company of my good friends by playing some games, grilling marshmallows and then off to a concert of an artist who I listened a lot when I was a kid. I was surprised how well I knew the words. My visit also included doing a little bit of school stuff and stuff for work. Two weeks is a small time compared to a whole year being away from home. From tomorrow, my journey continues again !                     If you miss someone, that means you’re lucky. It means […]
